A special THANKS to the volunteers from the Audubon Society, NC Bird Club, the Native Plant Society, and Peacehaven Farm who came out on Friday and Saturday to begin the process of sheet mulching the site in preparation for the Innovation Cornerstone and the plantings that will go around the site.

Click here to see all the photos from both workdays.
The design for the Innovation Cornerstone at the corner of Lindsay and Murrow Blvd was approved in October.  Detailed work on engineered drawings is underway and construction will begin on the site in March. Anticipated completion of the site and a dedication is expected late spring/early summer 2016.

The City of Greensboro is having public meetings in the coming weeks about projects that interest cyclists and other members of our community. Please attend any of these meetings if you'd like to see what is planned and provide input on any changes you might like to see.

The first is a Community Conversations Series Set for Keeley Park Master Plan Update

The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a series of community conversations to update the master plan for Keeley Park. Meetings are scheduled at 7 pm on Thursdays on February 11, March 10, and March 17 at the Peeler Recreation Center, 1300 Sykes Ave. The purpose of the master planning process is to create a comprehensive vision for the future development of Keeley Park to meet the community’s recreational needs and preserve the site’s natural resources. Residents are invited to attend the community conversation series to exchange ideas and shape their community. For more information contact Vonda Martin, park planner with the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department, at 336-373-7710 or online

The second is Greenway Phase 4 Public Meetings

Two public meetings have been set for Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 11:30-1:30 pm and 4:30-6:30 pm at Action Greensboro, 203 South Church Street. Designers from Kimley-Horn and City of Greensboro staff will be on hand to present the recommended designs for the major intersections for Phase 4 of the Downtown Greenway along the railtrail and for the Atlantic & Yadkin Greenway from Smith to Markland Avenue. The public will be able to view the recommended intersection designs for both greenways and ask questions of City staff and designers from Kimley-Horn.
