We are having a Trail Work Day on Bald Eagle Trail Saturday, June 27, 2015.
We'll be meeting at the Lewiston Rd. Trail head at 8:30 and getting started soon thereafter. Come out any time during the day if you can't in the morning.
As you may know, there is a new bridge under construction on Bald Eagle. The framing is complete and it is now time for the decking. The lumber will be delivered the morning of the work day (Saturday, June 27) and will need to be carried in from the Lewiston Street Trail Head. How quickly this gets done depends on the number of volunteers that come out. We'll be carrying lumber in and going back for more until it is all at the work site. We are counting on a large turnout of folks to help lighten the work load and speed the work.
There will also be bridge construction going on while the wood is being moved. If we get enough people turn out, we will also send work crews out to do some Trail Maintenance.
We also can use some help with signing people in and out, taking pictures throughout the day and If you're so inclined create a report of the days activities for the GFTS site, FaceBook and email list. It's not all heavy work and you can rotate through different tasks during the day if desired.
Please mark your Calendars for June 27th, 2015 8:30 AM Lewiston Trail Head.
