Spring Camping Retreat – Pisgah!
Apr 11 @ 4:00 pm – Apr 14 @ 7:00 pm

Oh yes! The Piedmont Fat Tire Society has again booked the White Pines South Group Camp for our spring camping retreat! One of the best group sites in Brevard, White Pine South sits directly on Avery Creek, squarely in the Pisgah Ranger District, and right at heart of the action. White Pine Group Camp Coordinates: 35°17’31″N, 82°44’19″WSite features include ride-in-ride-out to awesome trails, close proximity to The Hub / Pisgah Tavern, a concrete privy, and potable water onsite. Warm showers are easily accessed through the Davidson River Campground (for a small fee) with the option for a refreshing dip in the adjacent Avery Creek. The site also features a large fire pit, several pads for tents, and plenty of room for activities. Camping will be free for current Fat Tire Society members and their families. For non-members, the whole weekend of camping will be $35. Hint hint, memberships start at just $39. Link to membership page.In addition to camping, Blue Wall Adventures will be providing shuttle service on Saturday! This means more trails, more awesome Pisgah descents, and the convenience of being picked up at the campsite. The shuttles will be completely optional but will have a separate fee. Stay tuned for more info on the shuttles soon! We will have more details in the coming weeks, but we promise the area offers much to do for every age and skill level. Please stay posted for updates. Hope to see you out on the trails!

Take a Kid MTB Day
Oct 5 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Come out to Bur Mil Park for IMBA’s national Take a Kid MTB Day. We’ll have no drop rides for beginners and more advanced riders, and enjoy some great company with old and new friends. We’ll even hand out a few goodies.
FROM IMBA:”IMBA Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day (TKMBD) is an annual event that seeks to introduce the joy of mountain biking to the next generation. Created in 2004 and recognized by the U.S. Congress, TKMBD is officially celebrated every year on the first Saturday in October.
More than 100,000 youth have discovered and celebrated the joy of pedaling two wheels on dirt at TKMBD events, and many have gone on to become passionate riders, volunteer trail advocates and even high school mountain bike racers.
Events can be hosted by almost anyone in any country. Participating groups include IMBA chapters and affiliated mountain bike clubs, community organizations, scouting groups, youth programs, schools and others. Or, simply gather your family, friends and coworkers to host your own, backyard ride. Every #mountainbiker is invited to participate!”
