Spring is ALMOST here. And the weather is  going to be too nice to not enjoy being outside, even though the dirt trails are still closed for riding.

Fortunately we still have greenway options.

We are taking this week’s group ride over to the Bicentennial Greenway in High Point. Join us for a nice leisurely ride out to the P.E.C. and back.

Where:   Bicentennial Greenway (Gibson Park trail head)
                5207 West Wendover Avenue, High Point 26265                Between Premier Dr. and Tarrant Rd.                 Meet at the farthest end of the parking lot by the little office and the restrooms.   And as always:
This is a ride for all riders of all skill levels. The ride is intended to be a fun ride for all. We won't leave anyone behind and will stop as needed. If you want to ride ahead, that's OK. Faster riders are always welcome to lead up front.
Stuff to bring: Any Bike in Working Order, helmet, water, tube or patch kit, snack.

Since the snow has stuck around, we have some rain coming in overnight and temps warming to the 50’s, trails will likely be closed tomorrow due to messy singletrack conditions.

Fortunately, we have an alternative dirt option, so we are riding.

We are taking our ride over to the pea gravel/dirt loop to ride laps around Salem lake. Join us for one or more laps.

)   Take I-40 Business to Linville Rd. Exit and make a Right. Parking lot will be just past the lake on the right hand side. Meet the parking lot off Linville Rd., Kernersville, NC    And as always:

Yes the weather this weekend is going to be cold, but we won’t let that deter us
.  The good news is it will be dry. So pull out your toasty layers, think warm thoughts and come and join us for a fun group ride. We will try to keep it moving as much as possible to keep the chill away. And there may even been hot cocoa at the end of the ride.

Greensboro Fat Tire Society Sunday “Weather So Nice, Let’s Ride Twice” Group Ride

Since the weather this weekend is going to be so awesome, we’re going to take advantage of Mom Nature’s generosity, stick our tongues out at that pessimistic groundhog and ride both days.

Greensboro Fat Tire Society Saturday Ride is ON this week

When: Saturday February 7th @ 10:00 am

Where: Bald Eagle Trail head

This is a weekly Saturday ride for all riders of all skill levels. The ride is intended to be a fun ride for all. We won't leave anyone behind and will stop as needed. If you want to ride ahead, that's ok too.

This week, we'll ride Bald Eagle Trail, leaving from the trail head on Hamburg Mill Rd. near the Lake Higgins Marina entrance. Come on out and ride with us!

If you can't find parking at the main trail head, you can park down inside the marina and ride back up to the trail head.

Stuff to bring: Mountain bike, in working order, helmet, water, tube or patch kit, snack.

This year, GFTS would like to celebrate the holidays and Thank all our members for supporting the club and the awesome trails we are so fortunate to call our own.

So make plans to join us at Bur-Mil Park (5834 Bur-Mil Club Rd., Greensboro 27471) on Saturday November 29th at 9:00am for this FREE event which will include a trail ride followed by some grub.

All abilities are welcome. Members, Non Members, Soon to be members. Come on out and meet the Club.

This event is for Everyone. We will break up the rides by distance/speed so everyone can join a level ride which they are most comfortable.

Afterwards, we will all return back to the shelter for lunch. The Club will be providing hot chili and cornbread as well as some other yummy items for everyone to enjoy. If you are also able to bring something to share, anything is welcome. Drinks, desserts, side dishes, whatever. Hungry bikers generally will eat anything you put in front of them after a ride!

Donations to Second Harvest Food Bank will also be greatly appreciated. A donation jar will be available if anyone wants to contribute cash, but it is not mandatory, in addition to a box for non-perishable food donations.

So come out and celebrate with us and enjoy the amazing Greensboro trail network with other bikers who share your passion for riding.
