All,

Several folks have reached out to ask how they can help with hurricane relief in Western NC. We're so glad you asked, and here's our plan:

We will be collecting water, non-perishable food, and other essential supplies at the King & Queen of the Watershed race, this Sunday, at Bur-Mill park (Shelter 2), from 8a-4p.

Also, we want to use funds from all of our membership funds and activities such as this race to support the rebuild of Western NC trails we love. Our friends at Pisgah Area SORBA have requested all donations and volunteer efforts be focused on the basic needs of the people in their community at this time, so that's where we will focus Sunday. PFTS stands ready with manpower and funding to assist with Western NC trail repair when that time comes.

Thanks, and see you Sunday.

Do you have family members, friends, neighbors or coworkers that you would like to introduce to mountain biking?  You may have noticed that many people are afraid to take the leap in fear of losing an money on a bike if it turns out they don’t like it.  The GMBE program eliminates that risk.  No investment is required as we provide mountain bikes and even helmets to participants.   Patient and experienced instructors take riders on a beginner friendly trail, and allow them to progress at their own pace.   90% of our riders come back for multiple follow-up events.  Many have purchased their own bikes as a result of their experience.  This is a great opportunity for both children and adults.  Please help us spread the word about the GMBE program!
